I met Cole on the Equestrian Team in college. He was devilishly handsome and made me laugh. Even when he was sick he would have a witty remark. He was intelligent and kind. He drove me nuts, but in a good way. I never knew what would come out of his mouth.
I had a total of 8 years with him. We were married 3.5 years before he died. I was nine months pregnant.
My daughter became my world. She doesn’t know it, but she pulled me through the darkest times of my life. She became, and still is my sunshine. She looks like him. She has his smile. She has my sassiness though.
My daughter is very special. She asks deep questions and loves to analyze music. She fascinates me with her questions. She asks about her father a lot.
She adores Nate, though. Right now he is a perfect fit for us. I met him at church. It took a year of us quietly saying, “Hi” to each other before he finally asked me out. We promised to go slow but that didn’t happen. I’m ok with it though.
Life has taught me to just go with it. There is no correct timeline especially when it comes to love.
I love his mind. He’s so intellectual. I tell him his mind is a library. We have a lot of the same interests and we both agree that life needs to be lived fully. And he doesn’t mind my daughter. He has a lot of patience with her and I love that.
